"Old paint on canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent. When that happens it is possible, in some pictures, to see the original lines: a tree will show through a woman's dress, a child makes way for a dog, a large boat is no longer on the open sea. That is called Pentimento because the painter 'repented', changed his mind. Perhaps it would be as well to say that the old conception, replaced by a later choice, is a way of seeing and then seeing again."
- Lillian Hellman, Pentimento (1973)
This is what I mean about the representations in my metalwork. As a piece ages, I want to see what was there for me once, what is there for me now.
Through metal and glass I experience the creative essence of God in all His quotidian, existential, and mystical casts. Torch and hammer give shape and form to a piece. Through ceremony, the Holy Spirit gives it breath and life.
I invite you to inquire about current sculptures that are for sale or to commission work that invokes your architecture, design, or desire.
